Dual-Action GLP-1 Pens for Weight Loss
A once-weekly injection that helps you feel full faster and stay full longer — patients in our specialist-managed program lose 15–20% of their body weight in their first year.
Qualifying patients complete a comprehensive bloodwork panel (starting from $485, 95% refundable if our specialist determines you’re not a candidate) before your first prescription ships. Bloodwork lets our specialist confirm the protocol is safe for you and sets a baseline for monitoring.

Important safety information
Who this medication is for. The Dual-Action GLP-1 Pen is a specialist-prescribed, once-weekly subcutaneous injection used as part of a structured weight-loss protocol. It is intended for adults who meet specific clinical criteria and who have completed a Gambit eligibility review, including baseline bloodwork. Whether this medication is appropriate for you, and at what dose, is determined by your Gambit specialist — not by self-selection.
Who shouldn’t take it. This therapy is not appropriate if you have:
- A personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma
- Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
- A prior history of pancreatitis
- Severe gastrointestinal disease, including severe gastroparesis
- A previous serious hypersensitivity reaction to any GLP-1 or GIP receptor agonist
- A current or planned pregnancy, or if you are breastfeeding
Common side effects. Gastrointestinal symptoms are the most common class effect and typically appear during dose titration. These include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, abdominal pain, decreased appetite, and occasional headache or fatigue. For most patients, these symptoms are mild to moderate and improve as your body adjusts to the medication. Anti-nausea support may be included with your shipment.
When to seek medical attention. Stop taking the medication and contact your Gambit specialist or seek urgent medical care if you experience any of the following:
- Severe or persistent abdominal pain, especially pain that radiates to your back — this can be a sign of pancreatitis
- Signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing
- Symptoms of low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion), particularly if you are taking other glucose-lowering medications
- Severe persistent vomiting, signs of dehydration, or a noticeable change in how often you urinate
- Upper-right abdominal pain, fever, or yellowing of the skin or eyes, which may indicate a gallbladder problem
Monitoring. Treatment is initiated under a structured clinical plan. Your Gambit specialist reviews baseline bloodwork before prescribing and tracks markers including fasting glucose, HbA1c, fasting insulin, and ACTH at scheduled follow-up assessments. Your Gambit specialist re-evaluates continued eligibility along the way.
Discuss any medications, conditions, allergies, or pregnancy plans with your Gambit specialist. Follow dosing, storage, and monitoring instructions exactly as prescribed.
How it works
Dual-Action GLP-1 Pens are Health Canada–approved dual GIP and GLP-1 therapies that mimic hormones regulating blood sugar and appetite.
Insulin Secretion
Stimulates the pancreas through two complementary receptor pathways (GLP-1 and GIP) to release insulin when blood sugar rises.
Appetite Cravings
Acts on brain regions that regulate appetite, reducing hunger and increasing feelings of fullness.
Weight Loss
Lowers caloric intake by reducing hunger signals across the day, contributing to gradual weight reduction.
Gastric Emptying
Slows the rate the stomach empties into the intestines, moderating post-meal blood-sugar spikes.
Patients in our program lose 15–20% of their body weight in their first year.
90% of patients hit their goal weight inside 12 months.

Who is eligible for Dual-Action GLP-1 Pens?
Dual-Action GLP-1 Pens may be appropriate for adults working toward sustained weight loss, particularly those with a higher BMI or metabolic markers their family doctor has flagged. Eligibility is confirmed after your initial assessment, bloodwork, and a review with a Gambit specialist — not at checkout. The eligibility fee covers the specialist’s clinical review regardless of outcome; if you skipped eligibility and went straight to comprehensive bloodwork, that comprehensive cost is refunded if you’re not approved.
Which Canadian provinces is the Weight Loss program available in?
We serve patients across Canada, with active lab coverage in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec, and more. Patients outside our primary provinces are typically supported through alternate lab arrangements, and our health team will confirm what’s available in your region during onboarding. Shipping windows can vary by province.
Can I use my Health Spending Account or extended health insurance?
Many patients reimburse part of their treatment through an employer Health Spending Account or private extended health insurance. Gambit doesn’t bill insurers directly — instead, we provide an itemized receipt after each charge that you can submit to your plan administrator. Coverage rules vary plan by plan, so check with your administrator before assuming a specific amount will be reimbursed.
I’ve already been prescribed a GLP-1 — can I continue at my current dose?
Often, yes. If you’ve been stable on a GLP-1 medication and have recent prescriber records to share, your Gambit specialist may continue you at or near your current dose rather than restarting the titration ladder. Bring your prescription history and any recent bloodwork to your initial consult so the specialist can plan the safest continuation path.
Will my cost go up at higher doses?
Medication pricing scales with dose strength because higher-strength pens cost more from the pharmacy. Your Gambit specialist titrates your dose based on tolerance and response, and you’ll see the cost for each step before any change. The structure is transparent: per-pen pricing for your current dose at every renewal.
What side effects should I be aware of?
The most common side effects are gastrointestinal — nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and reduced appetite — and they typically ease as your body adjusts. Less common but more serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder issues, and allergic reactions; this medication is also not appropriate for patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2. Your Gambit specialist will review your full medical history before prescribing and monitor you throughout treatment. If you experience nausea, ask our health team about adding anti-nausea medication to your plan.
How long until I see results?
Most patients begin to notice appetite changes within the first few weeks. Visible weight change typically appears within the first few months, with progress continuing as the dose is titrated up. Results vary based on starting weight, dose, lifestyle factors, and individual response — your Gambit specialist will check in with you a few times within your first few months.
Are GLP-1 medications safe for long-term use?
GLP-1 receptor agonists have been studied for over a decade and are widely prescribed in Canada under Health Canada approval. Long-term safety data continues to develop, and ongoing monitoring is part of how the medication is used responsibly. Your Gambit specialist tracks bloodwork and clinical markers throughout treatment and adjusts the plan based on how your body responds.
Can I take this alongside other Gambit programs?
In many cases, yes. Patients commonly combine the Weight Loss program with TRT, HGH, hair loss, or sexual health programs when clinically appropriate. Your Gambit specialist reviews your full intake and current medications before approving any combination, and bloodwork is coordinated so you don’t get re-poked for overlapping panels.
Where does my prescription get filled?
Your prescription is dispensed by a Health Canada–licensed Canadian pharmacy and shipped to you in discreet packaging. Every pen comes with the manufacturer’s DIN, lot number, and expiry on the label. If you have questions about a specific shipment or delivery window, our health team can pull up your order details.
